BT – a subsidiary of Westpac – recently were reported as having the worst record out of all insurers for declining Total and Permanent Disability Claims. They have subsequently passed all of the TPD claims that were declined over the last 3 years to an independent legal firm for review

Whether this is a bona fide attempt to review these claim,s or a way to say they have been reviewed is to be seen. Commonwealth Bank allowed affected clients who may have received compromised advice under Commonwealth Financial Planning to seek their own independent advice at the expense of the CBA.
